Easter

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and took time to remember the real reason we celebrate it. Nick & I had a great time in the cities...unfortunately we didn't get Easter baskets but we got some goodies.

Other than that, this week is low key...I haven't really had a voice for the past couple days (I'm sure Nick's happy, haha). Tomorrow we'll stay low key also because starting next weekend we have weekends booked until mid-June, ya!

where did spring go?

Gee, I started removing all the sales tags from my spring/summer clothes and all of a sudden I had to take my winter coats back out. Where did you go spring? I was hoping to be outside for Easter, I will continue to wish for the 80 degree weather!

Last weekend Nick's friend (Breiser) and his girlfriend (Julie) came to visit...they were waiting for me when I got hom Friday to go to dinner. We took them to Falls Park on Sat. even though it was rainy out (we just had Caribou to keep us warm!). We did go to the comedy club here and it was actually funny (I usually don't find comedians funny, don't ask why). The rest of Sat and Sun we made dinner, bummed around and Julie and I went shopping. They left Monday morning and now we're getting ready for Easter weekend in the cities.

Dave (Nick's stepdad) had a surprise 50th b-day over the weekend wich we would have loved to have been there but it was short notice and we ended up having company coming. We still have another 50th b-day to celebrate in May, I'll celebrate extra hard haha...you know who you are!

Happy St. Patty's Day...

So last weekend Nick and I went to the cities because I was going with Stacy to the bridal show. I took a half day on Friday so we could leave early and see the fam since we had other plans for Sat. and Sun. Adelyn now is crawling and loves to walk by holding your fingers. She even walks by herself when she's holding onto her buggy. I can't believe how big she's getting, Shan even bought her first birthday stuff (it was on super sale at the store!).

Saturday we woke up bright and ealry and went to John's (Nick's old roomate) house and met up with some people and went downtown St. Paul to celebrate St. Patty's Day. We started at 10:00 got down there around 11:00 (we took the light rail to the airport and took a bus from there) and went to the bars. We missed the parade (never went outside) but the bagpipes came through the beer tents and played so that was cool. After we had lunch there it got really packed and it'd take 15 min. to go from the restaurant to the beer tent, we finally left. I honestly didn't think I was going to make it all night for it was only 4:00pm. We rounded up the troops, hit the hot dog stands and walked to the next bar. We met up with Joey Jones (another Hib-town friend that was there for the Gopher's game). It was good catching up with him...and then we moved on at about 6:30. We rode the bus to another bar (my favorite one) where they had a guy from Ireland and some band members play live Irish music. It reminded me of Titanic when they were all in the basement dancing (except everyone dancing was not that good!). By this time I was hungry again so we walked across to McDonalds (mmm grease!). 11:00pm the guys were finally ready to leave and I jumped for joy!! I felt old, my knees were going to fall off from standing all day. Stacy came and picked us up and brought us back to John's house where we at pizza (I think I gained a few pounds!) and fell asleep! Thanks to Stacy for picking us up, I did not want to ride the bus again!!! Love you.

Bright and early Sunday we ate b-fast at the Bradley's and hung out (well played with Adelyn)! Stacy picked me up and we went to the bridal show....we spent a couple hours there, eating the most delicious desserts! We got some good ideas for her and it was fun just hanging out just the 2 of us since we never get to do that anymore! Twas a fun weekend, thanks to all!

Sorry for everyone that thought we fell of the Earth! You're all probably wondering why I've been MIA, well I blame it on Grey's Anatomy. I've been trying to find the right time to finally jump on the bandwagon and Holly (from work) gave me the 1st season and it all went down(up for me)from there! I was almost through season 1 when I bribed Nick to watch it with me by giving him backrubs. Well as most of you know he got sucked into it as well. We started watching season 2 then, we watched it when we got home from work until about 2:00 am everyday (with breaks to pee and eat of course!). We finished up season 2 and went to watch season 3 on abc.com only to find out they only offered the last 4 episodes, we were very sad. We sat and brainstormed thinking we were doomed...until it hit me, itunes! You can buy all the episodes on their and then burn them later! We celebrated and got right to work downloading (we definitely had/have issues, but we're ok with that). So all last week we watched season 3 and we are finally caught up!! We were so excited we were caught up with the rest of the world for Thrs. nights and then they go and show a repeat, boo. So now you know why we've been MIA!

Today is beautiful, Nick is fishing (probably one of his last times for the season) and I'm spring cleaning with the windows open and the music cranked!!

Our big news while we've been MIA is that we finally got grown-up furniture! It was time, our only piece of furniture (the garbage chair) was getting holes and well it was embarrassing having people over. *garbage chair: picked from a Bethel College dumpster by Shan and Brandi when they were in college and passed down to us when they graduated, soon it'll be passed onto Sis, haha. So that got moved to the bedroom and we got new stuff, mom helped pick it out! Perfect timing for our Grey's marathon. It's wonderful being able to sit together on the couch! So here are some pics..

Happy Valentines Day!

I know it was yesterday but hugs and kisses to all.

My Valentines day was awesome...at work my team includes me and 4 guys (and Holly my supervisor) so they surprised us and gave Holly and I a dozen roses and chocolates! Then I got a HUGE embarrassing (yeah right) boquet of roses at work with a nice display box with chocolates inside! Of course those were from Nick, what a sweetheart. Even one of my advertisers (a liquor store) gave me a huge bottle of Godiva Liqour, mmmmmm! After work Nick took me out to dinner and we had a great time!

This weekend we're off to the cities, Nick gave me some money for V-Day to go shopping and..perfect timing...I won Player of the Month at work and got $100.00 visa giftcard! Wahoo, it's been a good week and I can't wait to shop.

Not a teen anymore

Little Sis is definitely not little anymore, she has grown into a beautiful woman (inside and outside). She is the most sincere, caring, thoughtful, spiritual and all around person that I have and will probably ever know (and I'm not saying that because she's my cousin). Who can say one of their role models is younger than them, you play a very large part in my life (hey we're practicaly sisters since you stayed at our house in town when you guys lived in the country). I wish and hope you have the most wonderful birthday....we wish you were here to celebrate with Nick and Jon! We'll have to get a cold stone next month! We're finally getting snow!

Our weekend was pretty uneventful, Friday night I had free tickets to the basketball game (the Skyforce) but Nick didn't want to go (party pooper), so we stayed home. Yesterday I got to spend my Gap giftcard from RoseAnn, I found some sweet deals! Nick also found a sweet deal on an ice auger so he bought himself an early birthday present. We also did a lot of cleaning and organizing, nothing fun.

We're finally starting to get to know people here, at church I actually knew someone! Funny how it seems like it takes forever to get to know people, it's nice to run into people when your out and about!

Well, I'm making homemade soup tonight, cross your fingers for me!

Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2007! Our trip to the Quad Cities was great but went by way too quick. Saturday we got to celebrate Christmas with Nick's family with a good meal and later that evening we went over to Nick's Aunt DeeDee's house to visit the gang and watch the fight.

Merry Christmas, again!

I was fighting a cold but mama RoseAnn doctored me up and I was feeling good by New Years Eve! We got a chance to stop by Severan's (Nick's friend) house and visit with them and then Dave got back from hunting just in time for us all to go to dinner on the boat and do some gambling. None of us won except for Jennifer and Grandma MaryAnn who went gamble hopping to bingo after the boat. We headed back to Nick's parent's house to ring in the new year with a couple games of poker (everyone won but me) and champagne!

On our way back on Monday we dropped RoseAnn off in Dubuque and got to visit with family there. It may have been a short trip but we sure saw a lot of people and had a ton of fun. I also increased my jewelry collection quite a bit, keep on making em RoseAnn!

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Lloyd and Jennifer who got engaged on New Years! We're so excited for you, can't wait till April 2008.

Christmas

I hope you all had a great Christmas, I know we did! It did come too fast and was over too fast. Nick and I went up to Hibbing to spend x-mas with my family. We got to hang out with Stef, Sam, Vicki and Blight (and Mable!) on Saturday and see old friends. I'm sad I forgot my camera but I took a mental photo! The rest of the time was spent with the family; going to church, eating, shopping for last minute gifts, opening presents and enjoying eachother's company. Auntie and Unc's house was crazy as usuall (12 people sleeping under one roof all weekend and other family coming over during the day). I'm surprised we all got some sleep, especially Nick and I (we were so lucky to share a room with mom who snores like Paul Bunyan chopping down trees).

Christmas day we put on our skates and walked down to the ice rink. It's been a few years since I've had skates on and Nick said he couldn't skate but he got out there and never fell! He was the only one that didn't biff it (we don't have our figure skating skills like we used too!); however, he was only going .25 miles per/hour.

Ice capades here we come!
